Update Documentation: Subscriber log limits and loading archives

asked on September 13, 2018

Please update the Laserfiche Admin guide:

https://www.laserfiche.com/support/webhelp/Laserfiche/10/en-US/administration/#../Subsystems/LFWorkflow/Content/Resources/Admin%20Console/Subscriber%20Trace%20Log.htm

to discuss the limits of what can be found in the subscriber log. Namely, the number of events or time range, since its very limited.

Also, describe where the archives are located and how to load those archives into the log viewer.

I have spent a years frustrated that the data I need is unavailable and forget that the data is available, just in an obscure and relatively un-accessible location: on the server in C:\ProgramData\Laserfiche\WF\]serverName]\SubscriberLogs.

You then have to locate and unzip the XML file then open it (from the server) in the Subscriber Log viewer (WF admin). This data cannot be accessed from another computer running the WF Admin console.

The log rolls over every 1000 events. They're located in the WF volume (by default, C:\ProgramData\Laserfiche\WF) under \<SUBSCRIBER NAME>\SubscriberLogs.

Can these details be added to the admin guide? That's my recommendation. I spent way too long over the past few years trying to find and remember this because it isn't written down. I've had to open cases with my VAR who had to open a case with LF to get the answer.

Explanation text on the subscriber log viewer would be great too as well as adding a feature that will comb through the logs and pull them in automatically like Audit Trail.

Awesome! The documentation for this system is the best of any vendor we use. Thanks for helping make it better!
