Question

Failover email server?

asked on September 12, 2018

Most of our clients use Office 365 nowadays, and service providers offer multiple Exchange endpoints. Outlook has auto-failover capability; for example, if one endpoint times out when trying to send email, it automatically tries another one.

Is it possible for Laserfiche apps (Workflow and Forms) to work like this as well?

I can't think of a anything other than Workflow's "try/catch" activity. We can't use that though because it would require editing hundreds of workflows (and Forms doesn't have the same option, as far as I'm aware..

I have been running into a problem with this, as well, ever since upgrading to Outlook 365.  I have been fighting using the try/catch option, as it seems to be a bandaid solution.  I am glad I'm not the only one having this problem and I hope there will be a fix for this soon.

I have not noticed any Forms email notifications fail, however, there is no error notification event that I am aware of for those, so, now I'm wondering if some of those have not be sent properly, as well.  I'm hoping that I would see those in the email user account if those did not send?  I do monitor that account.
