Add "New" option in Dropdown

I have a dropdown that pulls data using lookup rules. I want to add another option to the dropdown that says "New" , so that I will show some other fields if it is a New Dept. How do I do that please? Thanks.

If you add your "New" option in the dropwdown configuration, there is a box you can check for "Append choices to lookup results" so it will show both the lookup data and the choices you enter manually.
