Question

Entry, Entry Link

asked on August 24, 2018 Show version history

I am new to Laserfiche.

Our dept asks us to do Laserfiche related development using JRA without any training.

Can anybody explains to me :

1) what is an Entry, an Entry Link?

2) What is an Entry Link's source & destination label?

3) What is the Entry Link Type? How many Entry Link type are available?

4) How does Entry, Entry Link and Entry Type related to a Document?

5) Where can I find such info so that I do not need to ask such dumb questions in the future?

An entry is a folder, document, shortcut.  An entry link is a link between two entries.

The labels define the two parts of the relationship, like "message" and "attachment".

Entry link type is the kind of relationship it is, like message/attachment or parent/child.  I think we create 1 or 2 types, but for the most part you would define your own.

Document is a utility class to get a DocumentInfo object, which represents a document.  The DocumentInfo may have links associated with it, and each link has an associated type.

Documentation is included in the SDK installation.
