Feature Request: Enhanced Workflow Search

posted on August 24, 2018

Hi,

With so many forms initiating workflows and having to troubleshoot the workflows initiated by forms, it would be very helpful to have some more controls over there columns that are displayed and or configurable in the Workflow Search. More specifically, being able to add tokens as columns into the Workflow Search because wf that starts from forms will typically have no Entry ID, Starting Name, so more information would be helpful.

Thank you for consideration!

Yes, I would love to be able to search on Starting Forms Instance ID in the workflow designer. Would help quite a bit as often now we have to compare time stamps.

I've run into similar issues and I'd also like to see more advanced search options, but one workaround I've used is to set Forms-initiated workflows as Business Processes and at the start of the process set the instance name using a combination of the BP Id and BP Instance Id; this way I can use the Instance Name search option under the Business Process category to find workflows started by a particular form (contains BP Id) or a specific instance (equals BP id + BP Instance Id).

For example, a workflow started by Forms would have a business process instance name like "1234-54321" where 1234 identifies the Forms Business Process and 54321 identifies the specific instance of that form.

That is really smart! I might have to start doing the same thing!! I can't tell you how many times I have to open each workflow to find the one I need because the lack of information about the workflow and then look through the track tokens.
