Sorting of Documents

asked on August 23, 2018

Hi there,

The documents in a folder are not sorting like they do in Window's Explorer. Please see attachment as my example. How do I ensure the files are organized like Window's Explorer... is there a setting I am not aware of?

It's something we're aware of but I don't think we have plans to include it in the near future.  I think there are some implementation challenges that makes it harder for us than it is for Windows Explorer.

Windows Explorer has some special-case handling for filenames that appear to be numeric, which Laserfiche does not support.  The standard solution is to pad numbers with preceding zeroes, which will cause "90-011" to appear before "90-100".

Is there a future fix for this... so that it recognizes this like Window's Explorer... or can I put in a special request.

Thanks, Denny
