Laserfiche Windows Client requiring a C++ runtime version that has not been released from Microsoft yet

asked on August 15, 2018 Show version history

Getting this window on a random customer PC. I am baffled as this product has not been released yet from Microsoft, 14 (2017) is the latest version.

This is the windows client? That's... very strange. Does bypassing the prerequisites allow the installation to go through?

Yes 10.3.1 windows client. Bypass will go through if I choose it, I use it to bypass the requirement for Windows Auth in server applications. I didn't bypass though because I didn't want it to be broken after install.

We're thinking something is mislabled - that is, that there's a typo in the string itself, but it's looking for the actual appropriate runtime. Miruna's question below may be relevant to that.

Can you check if you have a Support folder on your installation media and if it has a MSVC2017 subfolder? It should be something like ..\Laserfiche Avante 10.3.1\en\Support\MSVC2017. What version if the vc_redist86.exe in there?

14.11.25325.0

I went directly to the Microsoft site, downloaded and installed version 2015 x86 and 2017 x86 successfully but it still kept asking for version 15 in the client installer window.

We are getting this now on the Chrome Laserfiche Extension installation, also asking for version 15 of the C++ runtime. I don't think this is a typo, if it meant version 14/2017, we have that version installed.
