Shortcut to populate a template field with the filename

asked on August 15, 2018

Hi :)  I have someone that just contacted me from the head office and she said she use to be able to use a < or > sign to populate the first field of the template with the filename.  I just checked and there is no workflow associated with that template and I have googled and searched on this site and have not found any shortcuts.  Is this a thing that has maybe gone away?  IS there a way to populate a template field with the filename for a particular single user?    Thanks :)

It sounds like using the token > button to fill in %(Name) in a field.  The token is parsed when the document is saved.

The Windows client 10.2...  I did more research and checked the template and she is going to allow me to run a workflow for her, but now I'm really curious LOL  Is it possible to use keyboard commands to populate or manipulate templates?

Ohhhhh  that looks like what she described...  you guys are so smart  We removed those because people were playing with them LOL And I believe with that setting it was all or nothing.  If my tired memory serves me correctly...  there was a long thread already on it.  Template -vs- System level.  I vote template for this reason.

Thank you so very much.
