It doesn't appear that LF is listed in Palo Alto's database of known applications, so I'm curious to know if anybody is running LF with Palo Alto firewalls, and what was involved in setting them up.

I don't know anything about that brand of firewall. However, most firewalls that provide a list of known applications simply use that as a shortcut to open up the appropriate ports.
You will likely have to set up the appropriate rules manually. Although, if all Laserfiche traffic is behind the firewall, then there's no need to set anything up. If you have clients and/or services on both sides of the firewall, then yes, you'll need to configure the firewall to allow the appropriate traffic.
Depending on your particular configuration, there are a number of articles in the documentation for the various Laserfiche products that can give you specific port information.
