How do i convert tiff format to PDF

asked on August 8, 2018 Show version history

Is there any way to convert tiff format to pdf in laserfiche?

While scanning to laserfiche we wanted to scan a document to LF with .pdf extension not as a tiff image. Is there any way to achieve this in latest LF versions?

Laserfiche only scans in TIFF through its scanning applications.  While it can store and display PDFs or export TIFFs to PDFs, it has no ability to scan to PDF.  If you need to store a document as PDF (and I find very few situations that need it), then you must do it indirectly.

Here are a few examples of what I mean by indirectly:

  • Scan with MFP to PDF and import file into the repository
  • Scan with Scanner (using another software) to PDF and import file into the repository
  • Scan with Scanner into repository, export the document as PDF, and import file into the repository

Why must you store the document(s) as PDF in your repository?  Storing as PDF removes a lot of client functionality without added benefits.
