Creating and Linking Laserfiche accounts to Existing Windows Accounts

Hi,

A Client of ours is using Windows Authentication for Laserfiche. Now they have a need to use Laserfiche Accounts so that they can access Web Client when outside their network [Prefer not use VPN here]. They are on the Avante License System.

  1. What would be the best way to link newly created Laserfiche Accounts to existing Windows accounts?
  2. What steps should be taken to ensure there isn't a need to reconfigure permissions?
  3. Are there any consequences for this?

 

I attempted to do this and encountered the following message. Does this mean that the Windows account Folder access/permissions will be stripped off?

Hi Karim,

You should be able to manually provide the AD credentials when you sign into the web client, even if you are outside the VPN. Simply provide domain\username and the domain password. You shouldn't have to link repository accounts.
