Attach multiple entries to a single email via Workflow

posted on July 31, 2018

What I'm attempting to do is as follows: I've a workflow that uses the Search Repository tool to find all entries that match a given name criteria. I then want to be able to email the entries in a single email. The Search Repository tool finds the entries just fine, but it only allows the emailing of the first result.

I've seen a few posts regarding this issue. In those instances it was stated by Laserfiche personnel that it wasn't possible. Have been any changes within the recent versions of Workflow to permit this?

Thanks,

Michael

Estimado Michael, este es un inconveniente al cual tambien nos hemos tenido que enfrenta y por ahora la solución ha sido el generar hipervinculos vía WebAccess o Weblink y incluirlos en el cuerpo de correo.

Dear Michael, this is an inconvenience that we have also had to face and for now the solution has been to generate hyperlinks via WebAccess or Weblink and included in the mail body.

I am not sure why this is yet not a feature but correct, you cannot using the normal activities.

I get around this but copying (via Route Entry to Folder) all the documents found in my search to a temp folder.  Then in the email activity you can click attach and select Folder and then go to Properties.  You can then attach a copy of the folders contents.

The last step is deleting the temp folder.

Hi Michael,

I believe this still is not possible to achieve with the built-in Workflow activities.

That being said, I have been able to make this work using a Script activity that has C# to generate/send the email with a variable number of attachments.
