Question

Question

How do you develop on a Live form ?

asked on July 30, 2018

We have a couple of forms that are in production and our users are actively using them.

What do you recommend for managing changes that will likely break the form during development before being ready for production again ?

Thanks !

Which version of Forms are you using? In 10.3, we introduced the ability to directly overwrite live processes with a new copy. This feature allows a designer to download a live forms process, upload it into a test Forms server, make and test any changes, then re-upload back into the production server. On re-upload, you can choose to have any changes that were made and tested on the test server to be applied to the current production copy. This allows you to retain your production process until you have made and tested all of your changes.

o Amazing. We are still on 10.2. I'll look into the upgrade and then test out that feature.

thanks !

Copy the 'Live' process by duplicating it and try changes on the duplicate so that the opportunity to test changes is available as changing a 'Live' process is high risk.

Thanks Fearghal, We've just started to do that and seems like the best and only option at this point.
