Data Source in Forms not recognized on Import

asked on July 26, 2018

I love the new feature holding the Lookup rules and just disabling them.

But all imports still disable all rules even though I have data sources containing the same names.

It still takes some time to go through each form in a process, re-enable and re-select the correct Stored Procedure or Table.

Is the only way to get by this still by replacing the database connection information within the XML?

Yes, we match the sql server names first, then tables. If we can't find the sql names, we disable it.

If the data source has the same db and table names, they should map up and keep the lookup rules enabled through import.

That said, in Forms 10.4 we are introducing a process import tool that will allow you to easily modify imported values that don't map up to ones in the new Forms server. You'll be able to see the external tables referenced in the imported process and select which tables to use instead in the new server. This also applies for user/team mapping, workflows and a few other properties.

Im looking forward to that for sure!

For the current issue, would I need to have identical sqlserver\instance as well?

the database names, table names, and data sources are all identical. But the server\instance name for sql is different.
