Drag Email Attachments into Web Access - Feature Request

asked on July 26, 2018

Hi All,

Doesn't seem currently possible to drag email attachments into Web Access. I can drag the email in, but not any attachments. This works fine in the full/thick client.

Is this functionality something that can be added to a future release of Web Access, or is it simply not possible?

Cheers!

Hi Chris,

You're right that you can't drag the attachment in directly - I'd have to check if that's something we can do something about.

That said, if you already have the desired target folder open, the 'Save Attachments to Laserfiche' button in the Laserfiche tab in Outlook will default to the folder you currently have open. So perhaps that works for now?

Hi Justin,

The Save to Default folder only seems to work with the thick client, also clicking the save atachments buttons do nothing unless you have the thick client installed in my testing.

Unless you're seeing something different?

In the scenario here, the customer only has the office plug in installed locally, no LF client or snapshot.

Cheers!

Hi Chris,

Simply having the office plug-in installed should suffice. You should be able to see the currently opened folder changing in the Laserfiche ribbon in outlook 'Send to [Current Folder]' as you browse through the web client, and sending attachments will reflect that as well. If that's not working for you, can you confirm which version of the web client and office plug-in you are using? Thanks!

Thanks Justin,

Interesting, I will do some more digging and let you know. Cheers!
