fields in the client app cannot be updated but in the web app they can

We can no longer update fields within the client app. the web app is fine and allows changes. What could have changed?

Open the LF admin console and check the user's effective rights on the template and each of the fields. If the user lacks read access on the template, the fields become readonly to avoid accidentally deleting field values that the user wouldn't be able to see:
