Question

Error when Generating Text

asked on July 23, 2018

I am trying to OCR tiffs that didn't OCR when they came in via Quickfields.  The number of documents isn't that many (under 100) and I chose to do this from the Web Client.  When I choose Generate Pages from the menu options, it goes through letting me choose pages to OCR, and then returns the error "The documents could not be sent to the OCR queue.  Please contact your administrator."

I've logged out of the Web Client and back in, but issue persists.

I checked the services to make sure DCC was running and all Laserfiche services are running too.

Then I went to the desktop client and selected the documents and was able to successfully OCR them.

So, I'm trying to figure out what's going on with the Web Client and Generate Pages.  Not finding much on this error, so any assistance would be great, thanks!

Yes, I did come up with a solution, but not why the DCC stopped running although it said it was. I had checked that the DCC services and all other Laserfiche services were running, but I didn't restart any at the time I'd submitted my post on Answers.

I went in and restarted the DCC services and that allowed me to again send documents to the queue.  I verified that they were OCR'd by searching the repository using the following search criteria:({LF:AssociatedPages="Y"} & {LF:OCR=some})

Hi Michelle,

I noticed this issue occurs also when service can't verify it's license from Directory Server.

So after solving connectivity issue between and restarting the service, it works.

Mahmoud, out of curiosity, how did you identify and resolve the connectivity issue between Directory Server and the DCC?

It was because of a network firewall.

You can check the Laserfiche ports documentation.
