Question

Configuring the Laserfiche Search Integration for SharePoint 2013

asked on July 20, 2018

I followed the guide to setup the Laserfiche Search within SharePoint and my subsite doesn't pull any items that I know exist within my repository.

Do I need to run a full crawl on 'Laserfiche Content Source' as well for values to be recognized within SharePoint?

Yes, the federated search works by SharePoint indexing your Laserfiche content, so you need a full crawl before any results will be returned.

After running the Full Crawl on the LF Content Source

The Search Site now responds with this time out error

It may be because the LF Search Engine has either been taken offline or Misconfigured.  Does SharePoint reconfigure the search engine used within Laserfiche as well?

Error Code: 9479
Error Message: Error connecting to the search engine. Either the search engine is offline or the search engine connection settings are misconfigured. Please contact your Laserfiche administrator. [9479]

------------ Technical Details: ------------

LF.exe (10.3.1.479):

Federated searches from SharePoint don't run Laserfiche searches, that's why SharePoint needs to crawl the content.  You can use the correlation id to find the relevant data recorded by SharePoint's ULS (e.g. https://www.habaneroconsulting.com/stories/insights/2013/an-even-better-way-to-get-the-real-sharepoint-error-from-the-uls-logs ).  If the Laserfiche component ran into any errors, they would be logged in the event viewer.

Can you share the guide on how to set up the sharepoint integration?

A side note as well.  It looks like the guides reference what I used which is the older version.

It looks like there are lots of dev notes coming out for the integration to SharePoint 2016 but I don't see the updated guide yet.  It may be still in development?
