Question

Import agent slower since upgrade

asked on July 16, 2018

Hello,

My client is having some issues with a recent upgrade of import agent on their server. They were on 10.2, but updated to 10.3.1.270.

After this, they noticed that when documents are placed into Laserfiche with import agent, it appears with a lock on the icon. I know this means that it is checked-out/locked for editing so import agent might be doing something with it, but they reported that it stays for a noticeable amount of time(30 seconds per page or so). The larger the document, the longer it stays locked when imported.

They wanted to know if this was to be expected, or a new way that import agent handles their documents.

Thanks for any insight!

I'm also seeing this issue. I've raised a support case, will keep you posted.

Was there ever a solution to this? Updated a customer to IA 10.3.1 update 2 but we've ran into this issue.

Hey Alex,

The solution in our case has been to downgrade import agent back to V9. What seems to have snuck in is that the MINIMUM spec for Import Agent 10.x is 2.4 GHZ processor (2.8GHZ recommended) or higher, which is a big ask from some smaller customers.

We've had to downgrade a lot of our customers back to V9 IA as most of their hardware doesn't meet this minimum requirement. Once downgraded everything is fine.

Spec list is here - https://support.laserfiche.com/kb/1013938/release-notes-for-import-agent-10-3-1

Hope this helps!

Excellent cheers, might be what we need to do!

We had to upgrade them due to an issue where there was hundreds of OCR tasks being created, I imagine 9 doesn't have this issue?
