Question

maximum file size web upload on multiple uploads

asked on June 26, 2018

Trying to upload multiple files at the same time that are over 2 Gb into the Web client. The message I get is

Error - Files larger than 2 Gb must be uploaded individually.

Can that be changed somewhere in a setting? (IIS maybe)

This is a limitation in the upload plugin that the web client uses. Out of curiosity, are you doing a bulk briefcase import?

No it's an upload of video files and there are for example 5 that each may exceed 2 Gb.

I've tried drag and drop. I immediately get the error. If I use the "Import Files" tool I don't get an error message, it just won't actually do it.

The windows client should be able to import these large files in one batch.

The people uploading are not on our network.

We still have no resolution for this problem. Is there one web browser vs another that can allow us to import more than possibly 2 files and not get an error.

Well, third time lucky. I guess using the import function within the web client, it did do it the third time. I guess I will have to tell everyone not to use drag and drop.

We are talking about clients that are not on our network so I cannot use the windows client for them. This has to be accomplished through the web client. It seems very wishy washy though. Sometimes it will and sometimes it won't. That will not be sufficient for our clients to want to upload their videos in this manner.

For every time it fails, it could potentially be an hours worth of labor wasted.

Update on this issue: the current version of Web Client has no restrictions as to how large a file you can upload to it. With that being said, files that are uploaded go to your Web Server's drive first before they go to the Laserfiche Server, so make sure you have enough space on your Web Server to account for this.
