SQL SA account password on VM

asked on June 26, 2018

Hi all, red-faced moment here as I was mucking about with the VAR VM and have reset the sa password for the SQL Express instance, not thinking that Laserfiche would use this account for functionality. Long story short, lots of the functionality in Laserfiche for my VAR VM is now hamstrung by it trying to use the old credentials for the sa account.

Does anyone know the default value of this SA account password in the VM, or better yet is there a file somewhere in the installs that contains the password it's trying to use?

You can detach the repository and re-attach it using the new password for the user. Workflow, Forms and the rest of the Laserfiche products can be similarly reconfigured to update their SQL configuration.

Unfortunately since this change the Laserfiche Admin Console has been opening to an error of "General database error. [9008]".

Is there a way to do this without the admin console?

You don't have to log into the repository. You can right-click it and unregister it.
