Question

How to we customize the keyboard shortcuts in Web Access?

asked on June 21, 2018

Users really don't like the fact that shortcuts are inconsistent between different LF modules. For example, in QF Scanning, the key to move to the next document is Alt + Right Arrow, whereas in Web Access it is Ctrl + Alt + W. Truly bewildering!

How do we change them in WA?

Hi Ege,

Keyboard shortcuts is a challenge in web sites, because so many are already reserved by the browser itself. Try alt-right/left in a browser for example, it means something. This isn't an issue in desktop applications. Anyway, that's why they don't match where that would certainly be ideal circumstances.

That's what I thought but overriding those is possible. (Whether or not you should is another matter, but many popular websites such as Stack Overflow do so and it works well.)

Anyways, we may end up writing our own JavaScript and hooking it into WA because this is kind of a big issue for clients we work with, especially those who are already used to existing shortcuts in LF desktop apps.
