"No response received from the server" when attempting to add a named user

asked on June 21, 2018

Hello,

We have a user that recently upgrade to Laserfiche 10.3 and got this message "No response received from the server" when trying to add a new user with a named license, even though they are maxed out on the licenses. When this occurred, it also stopped the Laserfiche server service as well.

They were able to remove a named license from a user and then add the named license to a new user, and it works as expected, no errors.

We are curious why they received this message, instead of prompt showing that no more licenses are available?

See full error text below:

Since your Laserfiche Server crashed, all the Admin Console knows is that it sent a call out and nobody answered. So "no response received" is the correct behavior on the Admin Console side.

The server crashing when attempting to allocate more users than you're licensed for is a known issue for 10.3 (reference ID 81535).
