Question

How to regenerate and update the license file on the Laserfiche server?

asked on June 15, 2018

Speaking with my VAR, we need to regenerate and update the license file on the Laserfiche server after we allocated Keyed Application Server licenses. So my question is, how do I do that? The explanation I got back from my VAR didn't make sense "So this step would be the process of creating the new server license file"

Since you're using a Rio license, this is done in the Laserfiche Directory Server (LFDS).

  1.  Renew the master license to get any features since the license was installed.
  2.  Go to the Applications page and select the Laserfiche Server category
  3.  Find the instance you want to change and click Edit (you may need to expand the instance row to see the details in order to get to the Edit button)
  4.  Make any changes you need (this is where you'd allocate the number of desired connections to an application key
  5.  Save your changes
  6.  Download the license for this application instance
  7.  Copy the license to the Laserfiche Server machine and place it in the install directory (by default, C:\Program Files\Laserfiche Server
  8.  Restart the Laserfiche Server service.
