Print Images - Scale to Fit setting

asked on June 14, 2018 Show version history

I have a customer that would like to push out to all of their users the print setting "Scale to Fit".  A previous records manager scanned everything very very large and it is causing printing issues for them.  If they use "scale to fit" then printing them works fine; otherwise, it is only printing a top section of the document since it doesn't fit on the page.

The setting is described here: https://www.laserfiche.com/support/webhelp/Laserfiche/10/en-US/userguide/#../Subsystems/client_wa/Content/AppearanceFunctionality/Options/Print_Options_Image.htm

Here is where it is in options:

I believe this is a client setting and not a user setting.  I did check the user attributes just in case and did not see anything that would allow for this there.  I also dug through the Laserfiche Client keys in the register.  Both HKLM and HKCU and could not find a key that made sense.  I then used RegistryChangesView from Nirsoft to look at a snapshot of the registry before and after setting that setting in the LF Client.  There were only 22 registry keys added or changed, that report is attached.

Does anyone know where this setting is stored?

Hi Jason,

I did find a User Attribute that relates to that Image Arrangement. The attribute is [Settings]PrintSize and the value is 2 for Scale to Fit. This is attribute is only valid for the Windows Client. Here's a link to the help file. I'm also posting a screenshot of the help file since that particular attribute is pretty far down the page in the list.

I was able to test this on 10.3.1 and can confirm that setting the [Settings]PrintSize attribute value to 2 will change the user Options to Scale to Fit.

Hope this helps!

Nicole,

THANK YOU!  After testing that I found out why I missed it.  I had been changing back and forth from Actual Size to Scale to Fit.  When I set it to actual, that setting disappears.

When I change it to Scale to Fit, the attribute shows up.  I must have looked when it was set to Actual Size.

Thanks for finding the attribute for me.  I appreciate it!
