Question

Security to edit Priority and Due Date

asked on June 14, 2018

I have been looking in the help file and cannot determine what rights are needed for a user to edit the due date and priority of a user task in forms.  We have users that want to be able to manage those items and change them but as a basic users in Administration and Submitter level to the process they don't seem to have it.

I know I can have variables on all the forms to check against on submit but modifying them through forms and not having to submit them is nice.

Thanks,

Chris

Hi Chris,

There are two types of access type. One is system level, which you can set it in "Administration" page. One is process level, which you can set it in left panel "Access Rights" in process designer.

A user can be able to Edit Priority/Due Date if

1. the user is a system administrator (in "Administration" page)

2. the user is a Data Admin/Process Admin (in "Access Rights" panel)

Additionally, the user can also be able to edit them if the task is a team task and the user is a team admin.

Hopefully I covered all the cases. Let me know if you have further questions.

Ok, that is what I was afraid of.  Just for consideration, it may be nice in future versions to allow a user to prioritize their own tasks (for sorting a working queue) without also being a system administrator and being able to modify and create entire processes.
