LF 10.3 Prevent Chrome extension from installing

asked on June 8, 2018

Hello! Does anybody know how to custom install Laserfiche client 10.3 without having the Chrome Web Access Extension installed?

This has been an annoyance for years, users opening Chrome for the first time get prompted about enabling or disabling the LF extension. If I tell Chrome to remove it, it only does so under the current profile, then the next new user that signs in get prompted all over.

Have tried for the CRX file, and then under the extensions folder, their names don't reflect which extension they are holding.

Hoping this time I'll get some tips as to how to prevent it from installing, or how to remove it permamently.

Thanks!

Hi Gerry,

There is no way to selectively remove installing the Chrome extension - they are automatically included if you install either Scanning or the Office Integration. The exact same installation packages of those modules are used by the web client, so they need to include those components.

That said, we are working on ways to remove the need for those extensions in a future version, so that should make this issue go away.
