Quick Fields 10.3 Doesn't Despeckle

asked on June 7, 2018

I was able to run though the test process in QF with despeckle and it works great. However, when I actually run the process, QF does not despeckle the page.  Any thoughts?

Hi,

Can you post a screenshot of your session configuration?

I've tried all activities in post process as well as a despeckle sub process of OCR.  I've also tried pdf and tif but still getting the same result.

What happens if you take the same exact TIFF file that you're scanning to 'actually run the process' and upload that as the sample page and test the process?

Also, have you double checked that the despeckle process set to run on "All Pages" or whatever pages you expect it to run on?

It seems to work when using Universal Capture on the tif. However, when using Laserfiche Capture, it didn't despeckle the document.  Also, using Universal Capture on the PDF version didn't work.

Despeckle has been set to run on all pages.

What options are you using under the 'Document Content' section of the scan source configuration?

Are there any errors or warnings in the processing information pane?

I've tried unchecking "Extract the text from each page" as well , but that didn't work either.

No errors or warnings.

Is the TIF you're testing with in color, greyscale, or black & white? Does despeckle work for the PDF if you check "convert images to black & white"?

The TIF is black and white.  The despeckle does not work for the PDF when having "convert images to black & white" enabled.
