Question

Pulling email attachments into Laserfiche

asked on June 4, 2018

Is there a way to set up an email address where when I email it, it pulls the attachment off and dumps it into LF?  Or am I over-complicating a simpler workflow here I'm missing?  Thanks in advance for your assistance!

Do you have Import Agent? Import Agent 10.3 introduced Email Archive functionality that allows you to do exactly what you're looking to do.

Hey thanks for the quick reply!  I do have 10.3.  Let me look into this!

Would Import Agent 10.3 be able to pull an email attachment and the email itself and combine them both into one file in Laserfiche?

Any help would be appreciated!

I suppose that would really depend on what you mean by "combine them into one file" and what type of attachments you're talking about.

Thanks for responding Jason.  The attachments are in PDF format.

We basically need to have the Outlook email itself and the PDF attachment opened and put into one document together.  Either in the form of a PDF or tif file.

It looks like Email Archive in Import Agent 10.3 only brings the files in an EML format with the option of keeping the attachments, filing them separately, or both, so it doesn't look like there is an "out of the box" way to combine them both into one Laserfiche document.

You might be able to pull it off with Quick Fields and some Workflow processes, but I'm not really sure to be honest.
