Question

Workflow to move folders creating duplicate folders in destination Parent Folder.

asked on May 29, 2018 Show version history

I have the workflow below which I intend to run weekly.  Its supposed to move any employees who have termed to the term folder; and also at the same time update the folder names with any employee name changes.   It seems to work fine until it moves the employee folder to the term folder then it creates a duplicate entry.   This isn't a huge deal as I can manually merge them but would like it fully automated.

In your Move Entry Activity, under the Actions section, do you have "Move" selected (and not "Copy")?

Yes it is set as "Move".

Can you clarify what you mean by "creates a duplicate entry"? Do you end up with two copies of the same entry in the destination? Does it mean that the original entry is still kept? I would double check how many iterations your WF went through.

I Should clarify after re reading my initial post it creates a Duplicate folder if one already exists.

Check security on the folders in the path. Does the user specified in the connection profile in your workflow have rights to see them?

Out of curiosity, was this ever resolved?
