Question

Integrating Forms with Power BI

asked on May 16, 2018 Show version history

Hello,

I connected Power BI to our Forms database but I was wondering if there was a specific table  in SQL I can point it to that would give me info based off of the USER that completed the task in Forms?

The end goal is to generate a report that will show all the tasks completed by a certain user.

Thanks,

Ashleigh

The Forms database is not designed in a way that is meant to be used by Analytical programs because the data is normalized in the database. The easier way to accomplish what you are looking for is to pass off an instances information to a workflow that inserts the data into a database table all in one row. This makes it easier to use with a product such as SSRS or PowerBi.

That being said, it would be nice if Laserfiche created a Power BI Solution template to use for it's different products.

I'd like to echo this request. We have had a few people now asking about integrating Forms reporting with Power BI.

Hi Ashleigh,

Just a quick question about your inquiry. Are you referring to an on-premise Forms db that you connected Power BI to?
