Authorize.net Configuration Issues

asked on May 10, 2018

Hello, I have a client that is using the Authorize.net payment gateway for a forms process we have built.  We are running into a couple of issues.

1. The payment area is not required for some reason and we can't figure out how to make it required.  We can fill out a form and the payment area is shown but we can skip the entire thing and submit.  Is there any way to make this required?

2. The client would like to offer ACH through Authorize.net as well.  They tell me they have the option enabled in the Authorize.net configuration but we are not seeing that as an option on the form.  Is this something that is available and if not will it be available in the future.

3. This ties into the above ACH question.  The client would like to only allow credit cards up to $1500.00 amount and once that threshold is reached the ACH option should be the only option available.

Please let me know if you need any additional information.

This is an issue in Forms 10.3.0 and seems to be related to having the "amount" value come from read-only calculated fields on the form.

In testing the same process from the support case in Forms 10.3.1, it flagged the other fields as being required and prevented submission.

Please upgrade to Forms 10.3.1.

*Edit* - Confirmation has been provided via the support case that upgrading to Forms 10.3.1 resolves the issue.

1. The payment section of the form should be required as long as the payment value is not 0. A user should not be able to submit the form without filling out the payment section. Do you have the payment gateway properly configured? Is it accepting payment if the form filler fills it out correctly? Are you using a hard-coded payment value or a variable?

2. We can add this as a feature request for payment gateways.

3. If/When we add ACH payments, we would also need to add the ability for a designer to select whether to accept credit, ACH or both for any form. Sounds like you also may need the ability to conditionally select one of those options based on payment amount. I'll add these along with the ACH request.

I appreciate the response Jared, I will ask them to test submission with the payment fields filled in and see if there is an additional error.  Once I hear back from them I will follow up with you.

In regards to the feature request I greatly appreciate you adding that.  The client really needs that functionality before they can go live with their project.

Hi Jared, I've attached a screenshot of the payment information with an amount due.  They were able to just hit submit and the form completed without error.  They also tested with filling out the payment information and no errors were reported.  Any ideas on why the payment portion is not required?

Thank You!

Can you open a support case? It should be required.

It is unlikely to be addressed in the next major Forms release.
