Question

Laserfiche 9.0 indexing doesn't resume after restart

asked on May 9, 2018

We have found that when the search server restarts the indexing services do not automatically resume.      We are having to Detach and re-Attach the search catalog (which is hosted on another computer) in order for the indexing to resume.

Is this normal behaviour or is there a fix/setting to resolve this?

Anytime a service does not start but is set to automatic it should be reporting a problem to the event viewer. Check to see if there is anything in the Application or one of the custom Laserfiche nodes.

Hi Chad

Thanks for the reply.

This is a Customer of ours and right now their LSAP has expired. I will have them check the Event Viewer.

In their environment, the Laserfiche server and the server which hosts the search catalog store reside on separate servers.      Oddly when the server hosting the search catalogue is restarted we do not lose indexing services – only when the Laserfiche server is restarted it does not seem to reconnect to the server hosting the search catalog store.

They only got an error on the LF Server.
