Question

Generating a Search URL Issues

asked on May 9, 2018

I am having issues when I generate a search URL through workflow.  I copy what the workflow creates and paste it into a browser tab.  I comes back as no results when I know it should produce 2 results.

The issue is with using LOOKIN for a specific folder.  When Web Access opens it shows no results and shows the search syntax.  In the syntax I noticed that it is flipping the back slashes to forward slashes.  (The search works fine if I look only by a field value.  But would like to use folder to reduce the number of files it has to go through.)

I have seen in some older posts that there was a hotfix but also saw that it was supposed to be fixed in 10.1.  I am currently using 10.2.1.362.

Can someone point me in the right direction of what hotfix to tell my system admin to apply?

Thanks.

Hi Jennifer,

This probably has to do with the way that the browser is parsing the URL. Thankfully, it's usually a pretty quick fix on the Workflow side! When you use your token, go ahead and use the Token Editor on your search URL token to apply the "Encode URI" function to convert your URL to an address that will be resolved correctly.
