Audit Trail Service will not start after server reboot

asked on May 9, 2018

We are on Rio 9.1 & Windows Server 2012 and when I try to load Audit Trail Reporting I get the message "(Failed to connect to an IPC Port: The system cannot find the file specified.)". When trying to restart the service I get an "Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion".

We rebooted the server after trying to restart the service and it will not start automatically or manually.  We do run Windows server updates each month, so I was wondering if there are any updates that may conflict with this.

Thanks!

Robin

Thanks!

We did a repair on Audit Trail install and that fixed it for us.

I just installed all available updates on a 2012 VM that has Audit Trail 9.1.1 and it seems to be fine.  A tool like Process Monitor might be able to give you some insight into what is going wrong when you try to start the service.
