Set up forms in DMZ for external use. Want to use Windows authentication

asked on May 8, 2018

Hello,

I set up a forms server per this white paper:

https://support.laserfiche.com/resources/3481/hosting-laserfiche-forms-10-in-a-perimeter-network-dmz

One server is behind a firewall (main server) and one is in the DMZ for external access. The problem I am running in to is that users cannot log in with their Windows login. I have pointed the external DMZ server at the domain controller via formsconfig but I do not believe that is all I need to do.

Can someone point me in the right direction? I want users to be able to log in with DOMAIN\username or username@domain.com and their AD password.

Thank you!

This sounds like a firewall issue. There are a number of ports needed for AD Authentication to work properly and depending on your environment, your sys admin more than likely does not want to expose that to the interwebs as that's a huge security hole. If I'm understanding correctly, this is something better suited for AD Federation services where external trusted clients can securely sign in to internal resources. This isn't integrated into Laserfiche Forms out of the box and is more of a configuration issue. There are a few resources out there to get you started but sounds like this is a path less traveled.
