Error message "Access violation - no RTRI data" showing in Quick Fields

asked on May 4, 2018

When using Quick Fields, the Post Processing is set to move the documents to another folder. This is working good in the past. Recently Quick Fields is showing the error message "Access violation - no RTRI data" and the documents are not moved to another folder. What can this be? The access rights were not changed.

Are you sure about that message?  Could it have been "no RTTI data"?

This sounds like an issue in Quick Fields 9.0 that was fixed by a hotfix, so if you are using Quick Fields 9.0 and haven't applied the most recent hotfix (see here) I would try that first.

If that doesn't help: what version of Quick Fields are you using? For the documents being moved, if you create the destination folder manually before you run the session, does the error still occur?

Yes, we are using Quick Fields, exactly where in Quick Fields can I check the installed recent hotfix. Creating the folder manually, the second file and all files after the second will be moved.

In Quick Fields, go to Help > About in the menu toolbar at the top to see what version you currently have installed.

We are using Quick Fields 9, that screen is not showing if hotfix 1013636  is installed.  How do I know if 1013636  is installed or not?

If that screen shows a version lower than 9.0.1.481, then you don't have the fix I'm referring to, so you should follow the instructions to apply the most recent hotfix and see if the issue still occurs.

If that screen shows version 9.0.1.481 or higher, then you should already have the specific fix related to post-processing that I'm referring to. If that's the case, this may be a separate issue.

You can also look in Control Panel\Programs and Features\View Installed Updates to see what patches you have applied.
