Quickfields saying record locked when saving

Recently I noticed that when I save documents from quickfields it tells me "Entry Locked" on some of the documents. 

Quickfields is configured to separate a PDF file that is a master file of customer reports. Quickfields separates the report into individual files and combines pages for a single customer. The result is an individual file for each customer.

I have determined that the "entry locked" message only occurs when trying to add a second page to documents.

What can I do to make this issue go away?

We haven't changed any software settings or hardware recently.

My documents will stay locked until the processing is completely done.  For instance, if the OCR is done upon storing, it will stay locked until this is completed.  I have another process that converts pdf to tiff documents via workflow after Quickfields documents go into a particular folder; this also results in the file being locked temporarily.

Does your file stay locked?

My files aren't staying locked. I'm not running any OCR or anything so I don't think I'm having the same problem.
