Question

Audit logs are an hour off from what the Client shows

asked on April 26, 2018

I have a document that was created at 3:37pm, the client reflects this time, but when running Audit Trail, the time shows 2:37pm. Changing the timezone in Audit Trail to not detect browser time fixed this, but is there a reason as to why this is happening?

Do you think that Audit Trail is incorrectly detecting the timezone?  Which timezone is the user in?  Could this be related to daylight saving, or was the document created since the last time change?

I found that having audit trail record using browser time was causing the 1 hour difference. I'm not sure what the reason for this is, but selecting a different timezone (in our case, PST) helped with this.

What version of Audit Trail are you using?  With 10.3 and all 3 browsers, the times display the same when I select Pacific Time and when it auto-detects my timezone (with current location in California).  The other thing that catches my attention is that California is currently in PDT, so if you have to pick PST for the times to come out right, that sounds like a bug.
