Connector not working in Chrome 66.0.3359.117

asked on April 24, 2018 Show version history

After Chrome got updated to the latest version (66.0.3359.117), Connector will no longer work. It looks like Connector is running (Task Manager) but the icon to use it in Chrome (using it with Salesforce) does not appear. Nothing we have tried will get the Connector icon to show up in the latest version of Chrome.

We have 8 users who have been using it with Chrome and Salesforce over a year now but now that Chrome got updated on all their machines, none of them can use Connector any longer.

Is this a known issue?

Hi Eric,

The team has been looking into this issue.

Thank you. We are constrained to using Chrome due to some customization's and browser plugins that this group uses so using another browser with Connector is not an option.

Caroline,

We have a client with a similar problem, their web application only works in Chrome.

When and where can we see announcements when you find bugs and incompatibilities, and when a fix for a problem is ready?

Is there a mail feed we can subscribe to?

Hi Cosette, do we have an ETA for this fix? I have a customer who is in need.

Cosette,

Can you tell us why Connector stopped working with Chrome, and if there are any workarounds we can use to fix this? Is there a setting in Chrome or the Windows registry that we can alter as a temporary workaround until the patch is release?

A bit of research about this latest release of Chrome leads me to believe that it's Googles limited trial run of 'Site Isolation' based on how some of our customers are experiencing this problem, while others are not.

UPDATE: Sorry folks, turning off Site Isolation in Chrome does not seem to fix the problem.

Hi Glen,
Chrome's latest update made some changes to how we could grab controls on the screen, so our developers had to update how Connector analyzes Chrome windows. The hotfix is very close to ready.
