Connector Scan Profile Recommendation

asked on April 19, 2018

Currently we have a customer who likes the search functionality of connector but is having trouble implementing the scan functionality to work the process of scanning into multiple cases. They need the ability to use connector to scan a single page and then make copies of that scan to apply to multiple cases (5+). I have created two different scenarios but each has additional steps that we are looking to avoid if possible.

1) Scenario one - We created a Scan Profile using the "Scan documents or page" option. When the profile runs it creates a shell document, then launches LF Scan (Basic Scanning) and allows you to scan into that document. The user then stores the pages and closes the scan window. The user would then need to search for that scanned document to find the scanned documnet and copy pages within the original scan and separate after that (New Document function - CTRL D).  Is there anyway that the document would get launched and stay open so they don't have to research for that document?

2) Scenario two - We created a Profile that Launches LFScan.exe (Standard Scanning) with the Launch an application  option. When the profile runs it launches Laserfiche scanning fine and allows the user to scan. However, the problem is that the scan window does not allow for the user to copy and paste the previous scanned pages. The user then has to scan however many pages multiple times to assign to multiple cases. Is there any way to create copies of pages scanned in the standard scanning mode?

Thanks in advance,

Hi Steven,

Use workflow, after scanning the document, a workflow is executed that copy the document in the same folder where the document source is saved, then you can rename it, assign a template, move, etc.

the result:

I hope can help you, regards.
Marco.
