Weblink Viewer Print (as PDF) Issues

asked on April 13, 2018

I have users in Web Link wanting to download copies of a document to their local computer from the document viewer, however, when selecting the print as pdf option from within the viewer, nothing happens. It says that a pdf is being created, but then either nothing happens or a blank webpage will open.

The files don't end up in the recent downloads folder nor are there any pop up blockers… this seems to be for .tif files since other documents auto-download instead of being viewed in the viewer.

The same documents that won't download from the viewer will download fine if the "download selected documents" is selected while in the folder browser.

Hello Robin,

I just had a Weblink User with a similar situation.  Wondered if you found a resolution?  When I duplicated their issue, I did have interference from a pop up blocker.  I disabled it for the weblink site, and then was able to download the pdf.

We corresponded through email and I sent them a link to the document (that opened in Weblink) and they were able to download, save and open the file with no trouble.

They also indicated that the initial problem had been that they were able to download the pdf, but that it would not open in their pdf software (once downloaded).

However, after I sent them the direct link, they were able to download it and open it in their pdf software.

Probably 2 separate issues here, but wanted to include all related info.  Just in case it happens again.

Thanks for any help (or just for listening).

Christine

Hi Christine,

I believe it was resolved when we updated Weblink to the latest version, as we haven't experienced it since. I'm glad you shared your experience and solution in case it should come up for us again. As you suggest, I suspect these were separate issues with similar symptoms.
