Question

Timer Catch Event with email reminder and Re-assign Task

asked on April 13, 2018

I have a task that has a timer catch event along with an email to notify the user that the task still needs to be complete.  If that task gets re-assigned to another person, the emails still go to the original person that was assigned in the process.  Is there a simple way to correct this so that when a task is reassign the email attached to the timer is also re-assigned.

Example:  Original task was assigned to Mary, Mary will get the reminders until the task is complete.  If task gets re-assigned to Bob; Mary still gets the email reminders.

Hi Judy,

There is a feature "recurring notification" on formsconfig -> Email Templates -> Recurring Notification. If you enable this, it would send email notifications daily to the user that has pending tasks.

If you does not like how it works: actually there is no way for email service task to know which user is assigned with task. The only workaround I could think of is using Workflow service task, where you can use SQL query to get the task assignee, and send email to that person. I'm having the same problem!

A daily reminder (Timer Catch Event) is sent to User "A" but stalls because User "A" left the company. The task is forwarded to User "B". User "B" has not yet dealt with the task. The problem is that the reminders still go to User "A" (task is re-assigned back to User "A" and stalls again). The reminder notification totally ignores that the task is now awaiting User "B" completion.

If the task is now with User "B", the reminders should now be going to User "B". I think this is a bug in Laserfiche Forms. We are using Laserfiche Forms Professional Version 10.2.1.246.
