Question

Open found folder not contents

asked on April 9, 2018

I'm doing a search {[Folder]:[Site ID]=1006}

[Folder] is a template.

If there is only one result in the web client the list of objects in the folder is in the search results.

In the desktop client just the found folder is in the search results.

I'd like the web client to work the same as the desktop - just display the found folder and not the contents of the folder.

How do I suppress the folder open in the web client if only one result is found?

Hi,

If you want to stick to using search syntax, include {LF:Name="*", Type="F"} in the search. This will bring back only folder entry types.

Additionally, you can specify the entry type in the Web Client's advanced search. When you are building an advanced search, add the search type Type from the drop-down menu and only select Folders. This will narrow your results to only folders.

Hope this helps!

Yes - I tried that but the folder contents is returned if only one folder is found by the web client.

Oh, well this is the default behavior, however, it can be disabled using the [Search]OpenIfOneResult and setting it to FALSE. This can be set at the everyone level by opening the administration console, selecting your repository > Users and Groups > Everyone and adding the attribute under the Attributes tab.

This behavior is controlled by an attribute

See WebAccess Search result behavior when only one item is returned
