Question

Windows Authentication error accessing LFDS

asked on April 6, 2018

The computer attempted to validate the credentials for an account.

Authentication Package:    MICROSOFT_AUTHENTICATION_PACKAGE_V1_0
Logon Account:    jsouthard
Source Workstation:    ******
Error Code:    0xC0000064

The user account exists, is not locked, and has been able to access the LDS in the past. Windows authentication is enabled in IIS, I have restarted the LFDS site, restarted the LDS service, restarted Netlogin service to no avail.

Is there something I am missing?

That error code means that the user doesn't exist.  Are there multiple domains in play here?  It could be trying to authenticate with the wrong domain.  See also https://serverfault.com/questions/527442/security-audit-failures-in-event-viewer-windows-server-2008r2

I am the user in question. I exist, I am in the same domain as the LFDS, and I have been able to login to the LFDS up until yesterday.
