Issue Dragging Attachments to Outlook From Repository

We have been experiencing a strange issue for the past month with dragging attachments from the repository to Outlook in an email.  This was not an issue before and I'm not sure what has changed, we have been on version 10.1 for quite a while now, though we will be going to 10.3.1 soon.  Sometimes the first drag works, but our legal department in particular frequently drags several attachments into an email.  What happens is that it produces the below error:

This happens after the file does not appear in Outlook, and the user attempts to navigate to another folder or do anything in the repository, then they have to restart Laserfiche.  We have been in contact with our VAR, and they have been in contact with Laserfiche and tried a few different things including reinstalling both Laserfiche AND Outlook with no results.  I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue before and might have some feedback?  Thanks!

Hi Rick,

 

Have you had any luck resolving the issue as a client of ours has experienced the issue but using LF Client 10.3 trying to copy between folders.

Hey Lance,

I tried 2 suggestions from Laserfiche (uninstalling and reinstalling both Outlook and Laserfiche), and then reimaging one of the PCs).  Neither one of them did anything to alleviate the issue.  The strange part is that it suddenly resolved itself a couple weeks later, going on a week now where it is working for everyone.  The IT team did not do any updates the weekend before it started working, the only thing I have been unable to ascertain as of yet is whether maybe Office 365 or Outlook did an auto-update during that weekend.  I am guessing a security update or patch was involved, but cannot substantiate that yet.  I will definitely let you know if that turns out to be the case.

Oddly enough, we just upgraded to version 10.3.1, and now the problem is back, right back where we started from.  This is frustrating.

I did find where this error was patched in a previous version of Laserfiche KB:1013480 though it had a different condition of moving between repositories:

  • You no longer receive a "The object must have its connection set before it can be used. [771]" error message after copying or moving several documents between different repositories in the same Client instance. (112217, 114024)

 

Is it possible there is a patch for this version (10.1), or do you think moving to version 10.3.1 would fix this?  It doesn't appear to be a Laserfiche error but Windows, but I'm guessing its a communication glitch between Laserfiche and Outlook.
