Question

Embed WebLink Search on Website

asked on April 4, 2018

A client recently asked if it was possible to embed the search function of Laserfiche WebLink into their website. He's envisioning something like a Google Search box in an iframe or something similar on their website. Once searched, it could take users to a results page inside Weblink.
If this is possible, what steps would they need to take to accomplish this?

Thanks,
Molly

The specifics are dependent on the version of WebLink that is being used. However, you can certainly embed WebLink in an IFRAME and set a custom search form as the initial page. You could also build your own search screen as the entry point, and then pass the query back to WebLink and then redirect over to WebLink for the results.

There's lots of ways to do it. It all depends on versions, the hosting environment, the site that it will be embedded in, etc.
