Question

Resume Instance

asked on April 2, 2018

I have a workflow that is in a waiting state and the messages are all showing

on the update metadata activity.

This workflow is triggered by a Form submit and the form is at the very end of an involved process.  I went to the Workflow Administration Console and found the instance of the workflow and tried the resume instance.  However, there is no progress bar or confirmation.  Nothing added to the error log when I try and resume the instance.  I have checked in the admin console and the document does not have a lock on it nor is it checked out.  If we can't get it to try again we'd have to do a fair amount of work to finish it up.  We can't really restart the whole process as it involves legal contracts and vendor negotiations.

Any tips as to get how to get workflow to resume itself?

Thanks,

Chris

If you didn't get any additional errors, then the workflow resumed. If you got more 9167 errors, then the Laserfiche Server has the document checked out, so there's nothing Workflow can do.

There are no new 9167 errors in the designer (last one was at 4:47 AM).  The time of last action in workflow didn't update either.  Still not sure if the resume worked.  I have tried the resume multiple times and none of the times update and don't seem to see anything new.  Also I have confirmed that the document in not checked out (or locked) through the admin console and through looking at it in the client.

Does the Workflow tab in the instance details still show the current activity as being the one that reported the 9167 error? Are there any tasks listed in the Tasks tab in the instance details?

Yes it does:

Yes, it keeps on trying to retry.

It seems to have tried again at 10:47.

Then you'll probably want to open a case with Tech Support. Like I said before, Workflow can't ignore a 9167 error since the Laserfiche Server is the one blocking the metadata update.
