Quick Fields: Revision Pane slow as Christmas.

asked on March 29, 2018 Show version history

Afternoon Laserfiche nerds,

I'm supporting a customer who recently upgraded Quick Fields from 9.x to 10.1 and then 10.3. After upgrading to 10.1 and 10.3, the sessions work fine however when the user navigates through the revision pane to check and correct any documents it takes ~5 seconds to load each image. The images are TIFF IV b&w, and are relatively lightweight. Upon selecting a document in the revision pane, the CPU spikes on one thread to 100% and then back down once the image loads. Navigating through the template fields is almost as slow.

Navigation in the client is snappy and instant on the same machine. Has anyone else encountered this issue?

Best Regards,

Your pal Hunter

I actually just got off a call with Laserfiche Support about the same issues for 10.1.  He said that it is a known issue that when working in the revision pane in the QF client there is a memory leak.  I don't know if this was fixed yet in 10.3 or not.

I haven't heard about this being a known issue - for what it's worth (not much). If I saw this the first thing I would do is a full uninstall and reinstall and see if that improves anything.

P.s. I love the way you signed your post - made me smile. :)

Yep. Confirmed for Known Issue. Not common, however. Workaround suggested was to use QF Scanning. Will test and post back here with results.
