I was just looking at the Rio 10.3 installation package and noticed that License Manager is not an option when installing LFDS. What is the last version that the License Manager is available?

Question
Last Version of LF to Include LIcense Manager?
Answer
Hi Blake,
The LFDS installation has never included the 'license manager' as an option, as LFDS is the new version (as of v10) of the license manager and completely supersedes it. Is there something you need the old pre-10 license manager for?
I have not been able to look into this a whole lot, but getting ready to upgrade a client to Rio 10.3. They said they have had to keep License Manager because they have several domains that have users that log into Laserfiche and there is not a trust between the domains.
I was thinking that each domain can just be setup as different identity providers in LFDS and accomplish what they need. Am I correct, or is it more complex than that?
I'll pass this on to the LFDS experts to comment on, but I would be personally shocked if there's something that the old pre-10 license manager supports that LFDS does not (and in most/almost all cases, LFDS would be better about it).
So I am taking a guess that if they have items setup in Active Directory Group Synchronization in License Manager that those are the same as Identity Providers in LFDS? This client currently has 3 setup. Will all 3 of them be brought over during the migration?
@████████, any word back from the LFDS experts? We are currently scheduled to do the upgrade this Thursday and I would like to verify this before we do it.
AD Sync rules are migrated into LFDS when upgrading from License Manager 8.3.
Thank you @████████. Do you know if with the 3 domains that they have setup for sync, if they do not have a trust relationship between any of them, will it cause any problems using LFDS? It is working currently using License Manager.
Hm, on second look, you are correct. A Laserfiche Server in domain A would need to run as a domain user trusted in domain B in order to be able to communicate with LFDS in domain B.
If the trust is needed, can License Manager 8.2 still work when running Laserfiche Rio 10.3?
Laserfiche Directory Server uses a WCF channel for communicating with the Laserfiche Server when establishing the user's claims during authencation. This communication requires Windows authentication.
License Manager 8.3 (and lower versions) does not handle authentication for the repository, so it is not affected. License validation goes through a different communication mechanism.
